Fall Trends: Patterns | 2017

First things first,
I know it’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post…
let alone a blog post about clothes.
I am back and ready to get this ball rolling again…
because truthfully,
I’ve missed it a lot.
Second order of business,
I’m thinking about making this “Fall Trends” thing a mini series,
what do you all think?
Maybe talk about my favorite fall trends and give some examples?
I suppose we will try it out with this post and see how it goes!
So let’s get started.
I want to start by giving a HUGE shoutout
to Cleo Madison for collaborating with me on this post.
Isn’t this dress adorable?!

Dress: Cleo Madison– $32

Since we are on the subject of the dress now,
let’s talk the details!
I have to start by mentioning the biggest selling point for me…
do you see how long this dress is!?
It’s actually long enough for me!
6’0″ tall, ME!
That, in and of itself, is amazing.
I also love it because even if you aren’t as tall as I am,
midi length dresses are really in right now.
So if I wasn’t already over the moon about the dress because of the length,
the fabric is super soft,
the pattern is adorable
(I am all about black, white and pink/mauve this fall. Don’t even get me started.)
the fit is great,
and who can forget the pockets?!
I guess what I’m trying to say is…
I found a winner!
So thank you, Cleo Madison!
This dress is perfect for fall
and I can’t wait to throw it on with a long, black duster as it cools down here in Bakersfield.
As for my adorable bag,
y’all ready know…
Charming Charlie!

Bag (similar): Charming Charlie– ON SALE for $16

I’ve talked about them on my blog…
well, since I started my blog.
And I don’t anticipate that changing anytime soon!
My shoes are Shop Stevie and I am in LOVE.
They look exactly like a Steve Madden pair I have seen at Nordstrom
for more than double the price.
So.. thank you, Shop Stevie, for making my shoe dreams come true
without breaking the bank!

Shoes: Shop Stevie– $42

Let me know what you all think about posts like this!
I’d love to keep showing my favorite fall trends and outfit ideas
as it *hopefully* starts to cool down here.
Thanks for sticking with me
and I can’t wait to talk to you all again soon!
P.S. Guys, isn’t Sadie killing it with these photos?!
If you haven’t already, check out her stuff.

I’m On The Edge

It is about time I whipped out this look.
I have been planning this outfit for way too long…
I just couldn’t find the time to shoot it.
I saw this tee in Forever 21 and figured:
“Eh, I can never have too many shirts telling people my favorite hobby, right?”
Even if I’m wrong, I still bought it.
The little rips are SO cute.
I struggled to get behind that trend for a bit…
but think that in good taste, it’s cute!

Graphic Tee: Forever 21– $12.90

These jeans!
First of all,
I am in shock that I found pants in the petite sizes that fit me
because heaven knows, I am certainly not petite.
black pants that I actually like!
I am super picky when it comes to pants
so for me to settle on a pair is nothing short of a miracle.

Pants: Spoiled Rotten– $45

*If the price tag on the jeans scares you, don’t worry.. You’re not alone. Wait for a sale!*
And, of course, you all knew I’d bring back these booties.
They disappeared for a bit over summer…
But they are back 😉
Yes, I did jump on the choker bandwagon.
I gotta say,
I think chokers are perfect for girls with short hair…
It draws the attention and looks dramatic and…
I can definitely get behind this trend.

Choker: Claire’s– $6.50

Watch (similar): Charming Charlie– $25

I am actually in the process of growing my hair out.
SHOCKER, I know.
I just decided one day:
“If I end up liking it better short, I’ll just cut it off again.”
So, if you notice me sporting a mullet over the next couple months…
Don’t judge me too harshly, okay?
That’s a wrap, folks!
Short and sweet today.
Just HAD to get this outfit out there.
Talk to you all soon, yeah?
P.S. Have you checked out my Shop Stevie inventory?!
Do it! Your fall wardrobe will thank you!
PC: my cute sis. luv u boo.

Cheetahlicious with BASK

Boy oh boy, am I glad that the weather is finally cooling down!
(If you know anything about Bakersfield summers, you’ll understand why.)
BUT, the weather isn’t even my favorite part about fall..
Or maybe it is..
Because it means that the clothes change!
My fall wardrobe is DEFINITELY my favorite.
I would wear winter clothes over summer clothes any day…
ya know,
so long as the weather was what I needed at the time.
What about you, though?
What’s your favorite season to dress for?
Let me know!
back on topic!

Kimono: BASK Designs- Sold out 😦 but I linked my current favorite!

I scored this GORGEOUS kimono from BASK Designs and fell in love.
The ability I had to style this either SUPER girly or SUPER edgy was so much fun.
Not only am I a total sucker for anything unique,
but all of Kayleigh’s creations are hand-made!
She is the owner and hand sews every piece!
Amazing, right?!
I love seeing people use their talents…
especially when their talent yields something so beautiful.
So kudos, Kayleigh!
You have such a gift and I am so lucky to have been able to share in it!
I’m not going to lie:
Prior to this kimono, I had not owned much cheetah print.
Not because I didn’t like it,
but because I felt like nothing I had found in that print was working for me.
I guess you could say I was looking for my perfect match…

and I am so glad that I found it!

Chocker: Charming Charlie– $13

Normally, when I think of kimonos I think summer, am I right?
But no!
Kayleigh totally changed the game with her kimonos for fall/winter!
In fact, I am TOTALLY crushing on the Penelope for fall right now…
(hint hint for anyone *cough cough MOM cough* Christmas shopping*
and for only $36 with my discount code (TALLNTRENDY)?!

Lipstick: Kylie Cosmetics– Leo Lipkit

So go!
Check out her site!
I dare you!
If your little fashionista heart is as excited for fall as mine is,
you definitely won’t regret it!
Thank you again, Kayleigh, for such a wonderful opportunity!
Your skills are out of this world and I look forward to working together again!
I also wanted to apologize for my lack of action on the blog recently…
With a month in Costa Rica,
a new semester starting,
my best friend leaving for boot camp,
getting a new job,
and becoming a rep for Shop Stevie
I have been way busier than I ever imagined!
But I will be doing my absolute best from here on out!
I just needed to get stable again, ya feel?
Thank you for all of the love and support, guys.
It truly means the absolute world to me..
I love getting to write about what I love and have others enjoy it!
So thank you!
I will talk to you all so very, very soon.
P.S. Stay tuned for information about my Shop Stevie launch party! I’ll be giving away a free item and the Lord Metal Matte lipstick from Kylie’s Birthday Collection.. so stay tuned 😉
PC: My killer lil sis. I love seeing her creative side come out when she asks me to move around so she can play with the lighting. She’s the best.

Ready For Shark Week?

Okay, okay..
So I know that shark week isn’t for another 6 months.. But what can I say?
Shark bite shirts are too cute to resist!
If any of you are like me, you’re thinking: What the heck is a shark bite shirt?
Let me fill you in.
It is named that because of the cut of the bottom of the shirt!
It is longer on both of the sides and curves up in the middle on both the front and back.

Similar Shirt: Amazon- $30; Earrings: Charming Charlie– $10

I love love LOVE the way that it looks. It’s just so.. Different. I haven’t seen many of these shirts, so when I did, I knew I had to get it!
I could not find the exact same one that I bought because I bought it a month or two ago.. But I linked a similar one so do not forget to check it out!
As for jewelry, I paired it with my silver watch, rhinestone bangles, and really cute, glittery earrings! Those are all linked as well!
Watch: Charming Charlie– $22; Bangles: Charming Charlie– $18
And that’s it!
Today’s post is super simple.. But not everything needs to be over the top all the time!
Oh, who am I kidding.. Over the top is awesome. Just not today 😉
Let me know that you think in the comments below and I will talk to you all soon!
Thank you, Simply Sadie Photography, for the super cute pictures.. Even though you made me freeze in the cold water 😉
Have you seen my most recent YouTube video?
If not, check it out here!

Cute, Classy and CRAZY.

My latest obsession is tulle skirts.. I have about 6 in all different colors and have no shame. They are SO MUCH FUN. I feel like a princess and get compliments on them everywhere I wear them.
I have bought all of mine from Windsor (such a great store for any formal event: dresses, skirts, blouses.. I love it) and love every single one. I even made sure to get an assortment of summer and winter colors so I can wear them year round..
So here, I give you my black tulle skirt (which I think might be my favorite).
I mean, come on. Who wouldn’t want to have to gather handfuls of skirt to get into and out of the car, not be able to see their feet all day and be able to twirl around like their favorite Disney princess? That’s what I thought: NO ONE.
Lately, I’ve also been really into the button-up shirt look. I love the way shirts like that look with short hair or long hair up in buns. And, this shirt just so happens to be one of my favorites. I absolutely love when shirts have cute backs.. It’s like, you’re looking at a person and thinking about how cute their shirt is…and then they turn around and SURPRISE. EVEN MORE CUTE.
Or maybe that’s just me…but anyway…shirts with cool backs…yay.
And last, but certainly not least, my shoes! I spent FOREVER searching for a pair of strappy heels like this.. when I should’ve just gone to Target first (Target will forever be my go-to store; if the zombie apocalypse happens, just know that’s where you’ll find me) because sure enough, I walk down the shoe aisle and it was as though God had touched them with His finger and they were waiting for me, glowing and angelic. Okay, so maybe I’m a bit dramatic/weird/obnoxious/ridiculous but COME ON. THEY’RE CUTE. And simple. And easy to wear with just about anything. With that being said, be expecting to see them in several of my dressy outfit combinations because like I said, they’re easy.

And there you have it! My very first outfit for you all.. Thanks so much for checking me out…literally. Let me know what you think and any ideas you have for each of the pieces in this outfit!
